AMSTERDAM, May 9, 2024 (VSNewsNetwork.com) - Kintetsu World Express (Benelux) B.V. (KWE Benelux), a subsidiary of Kintetsu World Express, Inc., is set to enhance its logistics capabilities with a new air cargo terminal at Schiphol Airport, scheduled to open in December 2024. This initiative is part of the company's strategy to increase air cargo handling volume and streamline operations in the region.

KWE Benelux currently operates two facilities located approximately 10km from Schiphol Airport, with one set to merge its operations into this new facility. Positioned strategically within the airport’s cargo area, the new terminal is designed to optimize the handling of a diverse range of goods through in-house Unit Load Device (ULD) build-up and breakdown of air consolidation cargo.

The terminal will also feature advanced facilities, including a GDP-certified temperature-controlled area for medical supplies and pharmaceuticals, crucial for maintaining product integrity during transport. Ensuring high security for customer cargo, the facility will hold a TAPA certification.

Environmental sustainability is a key focus in the construction of the new facility, which will incorporate materials such as wood and Xcarb™ steel, a low-carbon emission steel. It is also equipped with solar panels and aims to achieve a BREEAM® Excellent certification, indicating a high standard of sustainability in building practices.

This development reflects KWE Benelux's commitment to enhancing its logistical services and expanding its air import/export business, particularly between Europe, Asia, and the Americas.
