TREVOSE, Pa., May 6, 2024 (VSNewsNetwork.com) - Ernst & Young LLP (EY US) has announced Lazaros Kalemis, CEO and Founder of Simpay, as a finalist for the Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2024 Greater Philadelphia Award. This prestigious award, now in its 38th year, recognizes enterprising business leaders who have significantly impacted their industries through innovation and leadership.

Kalemis was chosen by an independent panel of judges, evaluated on his entrepreneurial spirit, purpose, growth, and impact, which reflect his long-term value creation. “I am a first-generation, Greek American businessman, two-time cancer survivor, father of four daughters, and a payment industry entrepreneur. I co-founded Simpay in 2000 to provide payment acceptance solutions to small businesses, just like my parent’s business. Simpay started in a one-bedroom apartment, above my parent’s pizza restaurant. I am so proud of what we’ve built and the team of folks working to help tens of thousands of business owners across the United States, with our Total Business Solutions platform,” said Kalemis.

The Entrepreneur Of The Year program celebrates diverse business leaders, from founders who have bootstrapped their businesses to transformational CEOs and multigenerational family business leaders who have significantly shaped their company’s trajectory.

Regional award winners will be announced on June 6, during a special ceremony. Winners will join an esteemed community of Entrepreneur Of The Year alumni and will be eligible for the national awards to be presented in November at the Strategic Growth Forum®.

EY US also supports entrepreneurs through initiatives like the EY Entrepreneurial Winning Women™ program and the EY Entrepreneurs Access Network, aiming to empower women and Black and Hispanic/Latino entrepreneurs with essential resources and networking opportunities.

The Entrepreneur Of The Year Awards are supported by several sponsors, including PNC Bank, Cresa, SAP, and the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, with additional sponsorship from various local organizations in Greater Philadelphia.
