SAN JOSE, Calif., July 17, 2025 (VSNewsNetwork.com) — Cybersecurity technology company Concentric AI has announced the granting of its fifth and sixth patents of 2025. The newly awarded patents protect the company’s proprietary methods for categorizing data semantically and detecting anomalous user access behavior in enterprise environments.

The first patent, titled “Method and Electronic Device to Assign Appropriate Semantic Categories to Documents with Arbitrary Granularity,” covers the company’s use of Large Language Models (LLMs) to assign semantic categories and subcategories to enterprise data. The approach does not require predefining a full taxonomy and allows dynamic adjustment of categorization levels. The technique incorporates adaptive manifold compression models to improve data discovery and reduce storage demands.
The second patent, “Methods and Systems for Determining Anomalous User Access to Data Objects,” addresses limitations in traditional user behavior analytics by contextualizing user actions relative to the data being accessed. The method is designed to reduce false positives and improve precision in identifying risky data behaviors.

"This pair of patent awards validates that Concentric AI’s ability to assign semantic categories and subcategories to content and better recognize true anomalies in behavior as it relates to data are game changers. Despite data security existing in some form for decades, it has gained a reputation for being flawed because it misses a lot of sensitive data and causes security teams to waste time chasing false positives. Concentric AI provides the context that is missing in legacy tools, which is so badly needed to autonomously protect sensitive data with high accuracy," said Karthik Krishnan, Concentric AI Founder and CEO.
The patents build on four others the company received earlier this year. Concentric AI stated that its Semantic Intelligence engine can identify a wide range of sensitive data, including intellectual property, legal contracts, and tax forms, across large-scale datasets. Its software categorizes this data and monitors risks such as incorrect permissions or unauthorized sharing. The company says the platform can take autonomous remediation actions or work with other security tools to safeguard data.
