Wheeler has more than 25 years of experience in the medical device and pharmaceutical industries. Most recently, she served as Senior Vice President of Global Clinical Affairs for the Transcatheter Heart Valve business at Edwards Lifesciences, where she helped advance multiple structural heart therapies.
The appointment follows CroíValve's recent expansion of its TANDEM II clinical study, a multicenter trial in the United States and Europe evaluating the safety and performance of the company's investigational DUO Adapt System for patients with severe symptomatic tricuspid regurgitation.
“Jaime brings a proven track record in guiding innovative technologies to market, along with leading high-performing teams. Her leadership will be hugely beneficial in guiding the company through its commercialization journey ahead as we expand our U.S. base and global activities. I would like to thank Lucy, on behalf of the board of directors, for her dedication in leading CroíValve successfully through development and initial clinical validation, demonstrating the value proposition of the DUO System,” said Bernard Collins, Chairman of CroíValve.
“What drew me to CroíValve is the caliber of the team and the strength of the science behind the DUO System. I've built my career on bringing challenging, innovative technologies to patients, and I'm looking forward to doing that here, for our investors and, more importantly, for the patients living with tricuspid regurgitation,” said Wheeler.
“As CroíValve looks towards commercialization, it is the appropriate time to bring in a leader with the right experience for this next phase. Jaime’s exceptional track record of successfully bringing novel transcatheter devices to market is a tremendous asset for CroíValve. I am thrilled to collaborate with her as we embark on this exciting next chapter, accelerating our mission to deliver the DUO System to the patients who need it most,” said O'Keeffe.
