MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., June 13, 2025 (VSNewsNetwork.com) — Technology company Simbian has announced the launch of the “AI SOC LLM Leaderboard,” described by the company as the industry’s first benchmark designed to measure large language model (LLM) performance in Security Operations Centers (SOCs). The benchmark evaluates LLMs across all phases of alert investigation, from ingestion to disposition and reporting, in a realistic IT environment.

The AI SOC LLM Leaderboard compares LLMs using 100 full-kill chain scenarios that test all layers of defense and performance in a lab environment designed to mimic enterprise conditions. Initial testing included models from Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, and DeepSeek. Simbian reports that all tested models were able to complete over half (61%–67%) of the tasks involved in alert investigation, as long as there was a solid framework to break down an investigation into clearly defined tasks for LLMs.

The results indicated that generalist LLMs capable of both coding and logical reasoning, such as Sonnet 3.5, performed better than models focused on a single skill area. Simbian also reported that combinations of LLMs or SOC-specific training produced stronger results than any single model.

“SOC analysts and vendors building tools for the SOC are rapidly embracing LLMs to scale their operations, increase accuracy, and reduce costs. Our industry-first benchmark enables SOC teams and vendors to pick the best LLM for this purpose. This benchmark is made possible by Simbian’s AI SOC Agent, a proven solution leading the industry in end-to-end alert investigation leveraging LLMs,” said Ambuj Kumar, CEO and Co-Founder of Simbian.
