CookUnity reported that as of October 2025, it achieved a more than 75% year-over-year increase in total meals delivered. The company stated that its growth has been driven by its chef-to-consumer model, which allows it to scale without additional equity fundraising while maintaining profitability.

The funding was provided through General Catalyst’s Customer Value Fund and is intended to support CookUnity’s next phase of expansion. According to CookUnity, the capital will be used to increase customer reach, strengthen brand presence, and expand its network of chefs.

“CookUnity’s model delivers remarkably consistent customer value, and that’s exactly the kind of foundation our Customer Value Fund is built to support. We are excited to support CookUnity as it accelerates growth and brings even more customers access to extraordinary food from extraordinary chefs,” said Pranav Singhvi, Managing Director at General Catalyst.

CookUnity also added several award-winning chefs to its platform in 2025, including Marcus Samuelsson, Rick Bayless, and Cat Cora. According to the company, the average chef on the platform earns approximately $850,000 annually, while top-performing chefs generate more than $7 million in annual revenue.

“We're building a model that supports both sides of the table: customers who want exceptional food and chefs who deserve a platform to grow their brands and reach more people,” said Mateo Marietti, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of CookUnity.

The company’s expansion in Canada has also gained traction, with Toronto-based Michelin-starred Chef Patrick Kriss joining the platform. CookUnity noted that several U.S.-based chefs have expanded their offerings into Canada as part of its broader North American growth strategy.

“The General Catalyst investment validates the scalability of our model and fuels our mission to bring award-winning chef made meals accessible to millions of consumers throughout North America. A key part of that growth is our unmatched variety with hundreds of meals every week for people to choose from; this diversity is what makes CookUnity truly unique,” said Aalok Kapoor, Chief Operating Officer of CookUnity.
