EVERETT, Wash., August 12, 2025 (VSNewsNetwork.com) – Pop culture lifestyle brand Funko, Inc. (Nasdaq: FNKO), has appointed Josh Simon as Chief Executive Officer, effective September 1, 2025. Simon will also join the company’s Board of Directors on the same date, succeeding interim CEO Mike Lunsford.

Simon joins Funko after more than five years at Netflix, where he served as Vice President of Consumer Products. In that role, he oversaw global merchandise, live experiences, and the Roald Dahl Story Company, building and scaling the division with products tied to major Netflix titles such as Stranger Things, Bridgerton, and Squid Game. He launched Netflix’s first e-commerce platform for consumer products, managed retail relationships with Walmart, Target, and Primark, and expanded the company’s experiences business to more than 40 unique offerings across 300 cities.
Previously, Simon held senior management roles at Nike, including Vice President and Head of Global Strategy for product, design, merchandising, and categories. He also worked in film production and development at The Walt Disney Company’s Motion Picture Group and Color Force Productions, as well as in Disney’s corporate strategy and development group. Simon earned a B.A. in economics from Harvard University.
Funko, founded in 1998 and headquartered in Washington state, operates across multiple global markets with brands such as Funko, Loungefly, and Mondo. The company offers licensed products including vinyl figures, fashion accessories, apparel, toys, and collectibles.
