SAN RAMON, Calif., September 20, 2025 (VSNewsNetwork.com) — Homebuilding company Homes Built For America (HBFA), a division of The True Life Companies, has announced the appointment of Greg Balen as Chief Operating Officer.
Balen brings more than three decades of experience in the real estate industry, having worked as a builder, land developer, architect, contractor, engineer, and asset manager. Before joining HBFA, he served as COO for the U.S. operations of Empire Communities, where he led an operational overhaul across five states. His prior leadership roles include Regional President at Landsea Homes and Executive Vice President at New Urban West.
Earlier in his career, Balen oversaw operations at Starwood Land Ventures, JEN Asset Management, Taylor Woodrow Homes, and Ryland Homes, now part of Lennar. He holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Business. He is also a licensed architect, engineer, and contractor.
