According to the company, Pofcher oversaw a strategic transformation across Shutterfly’s portfolio, which includes Snapfish, Spoonflower, Lifetouch, and Shutterfly Business Solutions. Her tenure focused on advancing the company’s technology infrastructure, refining brand operations, and establishing a customer-focused organizational framework. In a recent press release, Shutterfly stated that it is now preparing to launch a new technology platform and expand artificial intelligence capabilities aimed at improving user experience.
Whittaker joins Shutterfly from VistaPrint, a Cimpress company, where she served as Executive Vice President of North America and Head of Global Marketing. Over her 16-year tenure at VistaPrint and Cimpress, Whittaker oversaw commercial operations in prominent company regions and led brand, performance, and product marketing strategies across multiple business units, including technology, product delivery, and customer experience.
“I’m thrilled to join Shutterfly at such a pivotal moment. I look forward to continuing the momentum – driven by innovative technology, acceleration of AI capabilities, all with a relentless focus on delivering the best experience for the customer – we’re clearly positioned for an exciting future,” said Whittaker.

According to David Sambur, Chair of Shutterfly’s Board and Co-Head of Equity at Apollo, the leadership transition was part of a planned succession designed to maintain momentum and continuity. “Over the past several years, Sally has led the critical work to strengthen Shutterfly’s market position and ensure the company is positioned for continued success in the next chapter. This transition has been thoughtfully planned to ensure continuity and ongoing momentum, and the Board has full confidence in Emily’s ability to build on this strong foundation, leading Shutterfly into its next chapter of growth while keeping the customer at the center of strategy and innovation,” said Sambur.
Pofcher will remain with Shutterfly in an advisory capacity to support the transition.
“Strengthening these beloved brands through product elevation, the art and science of marketing, and significant innovation in the user experience has been incredibly rewarding. I’m deeply proud of what we’ve accomplished together and excited to cheer on Emily and the team as they bring Shutterfly’s bold strategy to life,” said Pofcher.
